Ellen Nielsen, Chevron Chief Data Officer, Joins CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board

(US and Canada) We are pleased to welcome Ellen Nielsen to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Nielsen is Chevron's Chief Data Officer, responsible for ensuring that data is accessible and trusted to enable better decision-making and create value. Chevron hired her in 2018 as General Manager of Category Management in the supply chain, where she improved sourcing strategies, organizational capabilities, and supplier relationships.

Throughout her nearly 30-year career, Nielsen has worked in IT, automotive, FMCG, and, most recently, oil and gas, in senior and executive roles with companies such as Henkel, Hewlett-Packard, GE, and Siemens. She is highly skilled in managing change and has led international teams in fast-moving, disrupted industries through digital transformations, multiple acquisition integrations and business transformations, creating significant value.

Nielsen is a member of the Petroleum Industry Data eXchange (PIDX) advisory board, which supports the Oil & Gas industry’s processes, information, and technology standards. She also serves on the Women Leaders in Data and AI advisory board, supporting women entering the field as a professional career. At Chevron, Ellen serves on the advisory board of the largest employee network in Houston.
