(US and Canada) David Blum, Chief Information Officer, has been promoted to Chief Innovation Officer at Hylant. In this capacity, Blum will continue to oversee all aspects of the IT department and immediately begin to refocus his efforts on driving innovation through technology and related activities.  

Blum joined Hylant in 2018 and has provided vision and leadership to drive business growth and transformation through technology innovation and digital product development. He has worked in various technology, marketing, and product development leadership roles. In addition, Blum has transformed Hylant's efforts to lead the insurtech industry, leading Hylant's partnership with BrokerTech Ventures. 

Before joining Hylant in 2018, Blum was the CIO and Chief Marketing Officer at W.W. Williams. He has also held the CIO role at Highlights Corporation, The Ohio State University's Fisher College of Business, Zane State College, and multiple leadership positions at SBC Communications/AT&T.

Blum received the 2021 C-Suite Award for Most Admired Chief Information Officer in Central Ohio. In 2018 he received the C-Suite Award for Most Admired Chief Marketing Officer in Central Ohio, the Info-Tech Research Group's 2021 Visionary & Growth Leader CIO Award, and the 2018 CIO Leadership Award. He was also included in the Central Ohio Tech Power Player Awards Class of 2018, 2019, and 2020, recognizing the leading IT executives in the Central Ohio region.

Blum received his degree in information and telecommunication systems from Ohio University, with a minor in business administration and an area of concentration in organizational development. He also completed graduate work in business administration at Roosevelt University, and in marketing and communications at Franklin University.

Blum is actively involved and has held leadership positions in several local, state, and national organizations, including governance and advisory boards for Ohio University, Zane State College, Ohio State University, Franklin University, and University of Toledo. In addition, he is on the board of trustees for the PAST Foundation, a nonprofit education organization focusing on STEM education, school design, and workforce development. Blum has also been an invited speaker and published nationally on organizational development, digital transformation, information technology strategy, and innovation.
