Vectra Appoints Ex-Admiral CISO Steve Cottrell as EMEA CTO

(US and Canada) Vectra AI, a leader in threat detection and response, announced that it has appointed Steve Cottrell as its EMEA CTO. Steve will work to strengthen relationships with customers and prospects, security communities, government and intelligence agencies to identify key security pain points, while helping evolve security strategies in support of cloud adoption.

Steve will also help security decision makers communicate the value of AI-driven threat detection and response tools to their teams and senior stakeholders.

Steve has worked as a CISO in large enterprises for the past 15 years, bringing a wealth of experience to the Vectra team from key sectors including communications, telecoms, and insurance. Prior to working at Vectra, Steve undertook CISO roles at Fujitsu, Vodafone, Aviva, and Admiral Insurance. Before this, he was a security specialist at Intel. The previous two decades of his career have been spent mostly in the information security risk management, security assurance, and cyber security operations arenas, where he has held various senior security leadership responsibilities across multiple industrial sectors (Finance, Telecoms, Government, Blue-chip, Utilities).

Steve has led the end-to-end security architecture (people, process, and technology) design and transformation programs for mission critical environments within large "blue chip" corporate clients, global Internet managed services providers, global telecommunications providers, and FTSE 100 financial services organizations, as well as extensive risk management, security accreditation and compliance, and security management activities within the UK MOD and UK Central Administrat

Steve obtained a BSc (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of South Wales.
