(US and Canada) Brigette Guyer, Director of Data Governance at The Wendy’s Company, speaks with Kellie de Leon, Senior Director of Content Marketing at Treasure Data, in a video interview about dealing with the complexity of multiple data channels and the organization’s approach to data privacy and protection.
Discussing the added complexity to her team's work due to data transfers across multiple channels, Guyer says they have become accustomed to it. She explains that with digital transformation, traditional businesses need to act as technology companies, focusing on using data as an asset, driving data literacy, and elevating the understanding of data at all levels. As a company, Guyer points out that Wendy's seeks data to understand what its customers want, as well as ensure employee diversity.
Guyer further says that the data also comes with the responsibility of ensuring trust and governance. She emphasizes that data protection has always been a top priority for The Wendy's Company, supported by senior-level leadership's commitment and awareness. The team is also geared toward ensuring that priorities and strategy are aligned and the various teams are working together to create an integrated approach to data protection, security, and privacy.
Concluding, Guyer says that Wendy’s is also investing in understanding how technology, data, privacy, and security are intertwined and ensuring they continue to work together.
