Infosec Execs Assess AI’s Security Impact at CDO Magazine Pre-Summit Dinner
Published on

Top information security leaders from financial services, logistics, retail and manufacturing speaking at CDO Magazine’s CyberSecurity Summit deliberated the evolving role of security in light of AI at the Pre-Summit Dinner on October 2. The event provided a platform for executives to share insights on how AI is reshaping security strategies.

“What a great opportunity to gather with other local security leaders over dinner,” says Tim Lange, Divisional AVP at Great American Financial Group. “The conversations that occur and the relationships built pay dividends throughout the year. In this industry, you can’t do it alone. It takes a community.”

Speaking about how security can ride the wave of AI, Tasneem Nipplewala, MassMutual Head, Enterprise Architecture, Security and Data, points out that “the spotlight on AI is going to help security professionals get the buy-in to drive data security projects.”

"CDO Magazine is proud to bring together industry leaders through events like this where the focus is on fostering meaningful conversations around critical topics like AI and data security," says Steve Wanamaker, CDO Magazine Founder and Publisher. “Creating these opportunities for collaboration helps leaders address the evolving challenges they face and drive innovation.”

Summing up the discussion, Nick Brandreth, OneTrust Global Director of Sales, Data Governance and Responsible AI, says: “There was such a great amount of perspective shared by the community on how their organizations are looking at governing AI and data — the insights they are bringing cross organizationally to the conversation, and how they view the need to tighten up policies and controls in a way that enables the business to move with the right velocity through repeatable and tactical wins.”

Brandreth adds, “While data and AI strategies are heavily influencing security strategies, the importance of avoiding unintended consequences and responsibly using AI and data is clearly driving tighter cross-organizational alignment for infosec professionals than ever before.”

Special thanks to OneTrust for making the CDO Magazine Cybersecurity Pre-Summit Dinner such a resounding success.
