Public & Private Sector Data Execs Engage at CDO Magazine Dinner in Boston

Top data and analytics leaders from the federal government, banking, healthcare, hospitality, retail and manufacturing sectors attending the CDOIQ Symposium gathered for networking and an interactive discussion at a CDO Magazine Executive Boardroom Dinner in Boston on July 17.

“It was a fantastic event,” says Kirsten Dalboe, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chief Data Officer, highlighting how data practitioners came together to share stories, collaborate, and be together in community. “Data is the driver of everything. Technology exists to service data. While watching sports, my young sons love to track stats. They are understanding that data is the underpinning of all that. The reason these applications exist or the things the applications are servicing or processing or work flowing is all the data within them. That's what we do.”

From his perspective, Tom Henry, Schnuck Markets Chief Data and Deputy Chief Information Officer, says: ”The CDO Magazine community is instrumental in helping me stay current with the most recent data leadership practices and innovations. Last night's event was no exception! We shared meaningful ideas and continued to cultivate and develop our community of data leaders.”

Sharing her take, Jennifer Bruder, NVR, Inc. Senior Manager of Data and Analytics, adds, “It was a wonderful evening to explore the industry and new ways to get people involved.”

Speaking about the event, Camille Prado, CDO Magazine Global Editor, says, “What a pleasure it is to be with like-minded leaders eager to learn from their peers, be transparent in sharing lessons learned, and grow in community. At the CDOIQ Symposium, we have the distinct privilege of bringing data, analytics and AI executives who are on our Global Board together with practitioners here for the first time. It’s an honor to experience the energy in a room filled with professionals passionate about building a better world through leveraging data.”

Summing up the evening, Nan Jayaram, CoStrategix Founder and CEO, says, “It has been a fantastic experience in Boston meeting the elite of the data community. We appreciate this great opportunity to learn about the evolving challenges of today’s data and AI landscape, as well as have genuine conversations and build meaningful relationships. It has all come together very seamlessly thanks to CDO Magazine.”

CDO Magazine Editorial Board Chair Mark Johnson, CoStrategix Chief Growth Officer, found the dinner to be “amazing,” which he expects from CDO Magazine events. “What I really appreciated the most was the open collaboration and honest sharing that all the folks did at every table. I walked into a room with people that I didn't know and walked out with a group of friends who are professionals in the same industry. We connected in ways that transcend data and analytics to the connection that humans have in making things better in the lives of other humans who are in this field or are aspiring to be.”

Special thanks to CoStrategix for making the CDO Magazine Executive Boardroom Dinner such a resounding success.

Tom Henry, Kirsten Dalboe, and Mark Johnson are members of the CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board.
