Back in the day, Chester Road was a hot spot bustling with clubs, hotels, restaurants and activities. Through the years, however, the pace has slowed. The people of Sharonville, however, want to resurrect what once was by investing in its future. According to Jay Bedi, managing partner for LDI Hospitality Management Corp., millions of dollars are being invested to build a brand-new Princeton High School and expand the Sharonville Convention Center, as well as erect restaurants and other amenities.
Ramada is also investing in the area by bringing back the hotel that once was. Interestingly, when this hotel opened 50 years ago, it was a Marriott.
Through the years, it endured dozens of name changes. Now, five decades later, the Ramada Plaza Cincinnati Sharonville Hotel is undergoing an extensive renovation, and in March 2020 it will reopen as the first Delta Hotels by Marriott in Ohio.
“This will be an all-in-one as far as a meeting destination place for business travelers and tourists,” says Bedi, noting that the establishment will feature 230 rooms, an outdoor patio, a business center, fitness center, and 25,000 square feet of meeting space with two ballrooms and 15 breakout rooms. In addition, the hotel will include an upscale but casual bourbon bar.
“This is the right time to invest in millions of dollars of renovation,” says Bedi. “Queen City Racquet & Fitness Club is right across from us, as ithe Sharonville Convention Center. Next door there’s a $2 million brewery and restaurant going in.”
Bedi says that they are excited to partner with Marriott, the number one hotel franchise in the world.
“We had a vision of making this into an all-inclusive, full-service, hotel, and we are eager to serve this vibrant area,” says Bedi.
