Creating Customized Communications Solutions

Creating Customized Communications Solutions

There are companies that sell similar products, but there is no company that is truly comparable to Parallel," says Rob Schmittauer, Parallel Technologies vice president.

Schmittauer notes Parallel’s employees and culture as the essential difference, verified by the company’s finalist status for Best Places to Work in Cincinnati and Columbus seven consecutive years, and designation as CBTS Partner of the Year in 2017 and 2018.  In business for over 35 years, Parallel Technologies provides communications solutions — including phone systems, UCaaS, carrier services, networking, and cabling — to thousands of customers.

And that base of customers is diverse.  "Some customers have five employees, and some have thousands," Schmittauer says. He attributes Parallel’s flexibility to the high caliber of its 55 employees, and strong partnerships with top-rated providers like CBTS and Mitel, where Parallel is a platinum-level partner.

Add to that list Parallel’s focus on the customer.  "I think often times, companies are concerned with padding their pocket rather than the right solution for the customer," Schmittauer says. "Parallel exists to provide value to our customers.  We are, first and foremost, consultants.  Once we sacrifice our objectivity, we no longer provide value."

Parallel has gained the reputation of treating each customer as an individual case and working tirelessly to craft the solution that meets their distinct needs — not necessarily the solution that makes Parallel the most money.

A recent example is The Kleingers Group, a civil engineering and surveying company in West Chester, Ohio, with offices in Dayton, Columbus and Louisville.

Kleingers’ outdated network and equipment caused frequent downtime, leaving IT staff managing network issues instead of strategic initiatives. Parallel conducted a comprehensive analysis to recommend and implement a new network and voice solution — replacing expensive circuits and dated point-to-point with CBTS’s Network as a Service (NaaS) and SD-WAN, and a new Mitel phone system.

Parallel is the single vendor overseeing the solutions that now support Kleingers’ existing locations and growth strategies, allowing IT staff time to focus on strategic initiatives and adding value to the business.

"As Kleingers’ primary communications provider, they trust our advice when recommending new solutions," says Dave Hammond, Parallel sales executive. "And our partnerships with CBTS and Mitel allowed for the expertise and technologies that fit."

"Our experience with Parallel has been second to none," says Mike Pillman, Kleingers’ system administrator.  "We replaced our carrier services, revamped network gear and streamlined communications at all sites.  We’re looking forward to a long-standing partnership with Parallel."

"We demand excellence of our employees and our customer experience," Schmittauer concludes. "People work here until the job is done, including after hours. We have countless stories where employees have gone above and beyond in order to take care of a customer."

Parallel Technologies’ locations are 4868 Blazer Parkway, Dublin, OH 43017, and 11135 Kenwood Road, Cincinnati, OH 45242. For more information, visit www.paralleltech.com.
