David Goodwin is the co-founder and managing partner of Advanced Technology Consulting (ATC), established in 1999, located in West Chester Township,  providing high-end IT and telecommunications consulting to area-based enterprises. ATC is proud to be known throughout the tri-state for best-in-class solutions that are provider agnostic and take advantage of the ever-increasing convergence of telecommunications and information technology.

The ATC staff working from offices in West Chester (there is also an ATC group based in Hartford, Connecticut) is comprised of only 5 people. Goodwin characterizes the staff simply as “good people” with “high levels of energy”. Internally, this is a group who care for one another. They cover each other’s back but are responsible and accountable to each other and to their clients. Goodwin continues, “The basis of their relationships is trust – trust in one another and that together they will act in the best interest of the client.” The relationships based on that trust are the major reason for the success of the business that’s had remarkable growth as it enters its 20th year this October.

ATC’s connection to the community begins with David Goodwin. An alumnus of Xavier University, Goodwin is involved in mentoring programs at the school. He is also the first male board member at Dress for Success, Cincinnati. A one-time pitcher in the Chicago Cubs organization, Goodwin has coached Cincinnati area baseball for years.

Following his lead, ATC is heavily involved in the community. Goodwin says, “ATC contributes both time and treasure to over 25 Cincinnati area non-profits.” A favorite activity entering its seventh year is a volunteer day at Matthew 25 Ministries, held between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Originally starting with the ATC staff, the volunteer force has grown to include families, clients and local industry partners. Last December over 40 people attended the work day, which concludes with a celebration at Skyline.

Individual members of the ATC team are also committed to community outreach, actively engaged outside the ATC umbrella, though often with ATC participation.

Senior Consultant Clayton Connor and his wife, Jaime, are both active in Clear Mountain Community Church (CMCC). Jaime and Clayton were asked to lead the Children’s Department at CMCC, and soon Jaime joined the staff as the full-time leader for that department. They both bring contagious energy and enthusiasm and their amazing love for children. Along with year-long activities, the couple runs a popular summer camp for area children.

Nick Enger is also a Senior Consultant with responsibility for major projects at ATC. Nick has spent his 12-year career with the company, starting as an intern while still a student at the University of Cincinnati (UC). Nick’s primary involvement in the community has roots in a personal relationship with a “close buddy”, MSG Corey Hood, a U.S. Army Golden Knight who passed away in a skydiving accident while performing at the Chicago Air & Water Show. Nick helped co-found and directs the annual Hoody Memorial to honor Corey and raise funds for a Lakota School District scholarship in his name. The memorial golf tournament and dinner has been warmly embraced by the Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty and is expected to raise upwards of $100,000 this year. Nick also sits on the board of the Community Foundation.

These are but two examples of the passion for local philanthropy that embody the ATC culture. Other team members step forward with the same enthusiasm – providing contributions, coaching and caring for deserving organizations.
