What’s the state of business technology in greater Cincinnati region? How do we compare to other cities nationally or globally?

“Speaking of healthcare technology in particular, Cincinnati is very progressive in the way we are able to share data because every health system has adopted the same electronic record system, Epic. Many physicians are on the same platform, it is one database, so care delivery in Cincinnati is unique in this way. Epic comes with a patient portal called “MyChart,” which can be viewed on mobile devices and used to schedule appointments, view test results, chat with physicians and more. Epic also has a feature called “Care Everywhere” which allows us to exchange data electronically, and that’s just better care, so once a few health networks put Epic in, the writing was on the wall for the rest. Cincinnati is one of the few cities that is completely Epic. I think the fact that Cincinnati Bell laid a really nice fiber network here allows us to have higher connectivity than other cities.”
