(US and Canada) Brigette Guyer, Director of Data Governance at The Wendy’s Company, speaks with Kellie de Leon, Senior Director of Content Marketing at Treasure Data, in a video interview about the importance of data governance strategy in accelerating business and how a lack of foundational thinking around data privacy and governance can impede digital transformation.
Regarding the business impact of integrating governance and privacy, Guyer says that it is almost like building a constantly managed and maintained foundation. She adds that the foundation ensures that regulation changes have a minor impact. She reveals that The Wendy’s Company manages the quality of our data as it progresses to avoid big surprises.
Guyer’s team continues to advise, support, and help the company treat data as an asset and maintain the quality to continuously use it as an asset benefiting customers and employees.
When asked how the lack of governance strategy and the foundational thinking around data privacy impedes digital transformation, Guyer says that effective data governance and privacy management mitigate company risks, like compliance and brand reputation risks.
In terms of digital transformation support, she elaborates that the organization is aware of the importance of partnership and the need to have all the right things in place to undergo digital transformation to offer new and innovative services to customers.
