(US and Canada) Eminent Data Governance Leader Denish Bhavsar speaks with Subhash Kari, Chief Innovation Officer at Infocepts, in a video interview about embedding data governance, data-led transformation, and exploring data as a career.

Bhavsar says an organization must consider having data governance embedded into its structure. He recommends organizations drive data literacy so that everyone across the organization understands the importance of good quality data and ensures its security. According to him, having that level of data literacy means data governance is embedded in the organization.

Further, Bhavsar advises leaders to consider the following if they want data-led transformation:

  • Be curious about data
  • Focus on where improvement is needed
  • Figure out how data can help make that improvement
  • Hone in on the process and ascertain relevant use cases

Highlighting the vast career opportunities for the younger generation in data, such as data engineering, data science, and data architecture, Bhavsar says that updating oneself and being relevant is crucial. He encourages Gen Z to focus on all aspects of data and data analytics and analyze their interests before choosing a field.

Bhavsar asserts that it is an opportunity for people to embrace and leverage data for their careers and mentions that being in the data space and understanding the risk side of things, from regulatory requirements to analytics and debates, has been a rewarding experience.

In conclusion, he states that the domain will only expand as organizations venture more into the AI and machine learning space. He asserts that while the opportunities are endless, they demand solid responsibility.
