(US and Canada) Santha Ramakrishnan, Sanofi Global Data Governance Lead, speaks with Lauren LeRoy, BigID Director of Product Marketing, in a video interview about maintaining data quality, implementing data governance, and measuring success.
Ramakrishnan says that most data quality challenges are common across industries. Still, the pharma industry must learn to industrialize data quality and leverage technologies like AI and ML to build quality.
She mentions that her team is working on creating a centralized data glossary first to define and then fix problems. The goal is to help the organization apply definitions consistently.
Sharing her experiences leveraging technologies, Ramakrishnan says that Sanofi customizes traditional technologies, such as master data management, for each business.
Ramakrishnan says that Sofi is implementing data governance to build value. She emphasizes two key success measurement metrics — more new data use cases generated and more people seeking data solutions for problems. Ramakrishnan explains that these metrics indicate the data team has established its presence and people have confidence in what the team does.
CDO Magazine appreciates Santha Ramakrishnan for sharing her insights and data success stories with our global community.
