(US and Canada) Ravneet Chadha, Chief Data Officer and Associate VP at the University of Arizona, speaks with Dr. Katrina Adkins, Director of Education Solutions at SHI, in a video interview about leveraging data to help students succeed and factors impacting data leaders’ success.
Chadha says the University of Arizona uses diversity, equity, and inclusion data to aid students. He notes, for example, that some demographics retain better, some graduate better, and some graduate sooner than others. By using the data sets, advisors can create initiatives for students needing extra assistance or to catch up on their bursar payments.
Chadha explains that the scenario changes depending on the questions being answered. He maintains, however, that a key goal is also to avoid creating any negative bias in the data.
When asked where he sees himself in the future, Chadha points out he has always focused on providing the best service to customers since his early professional days, resulting in long-lasting relationships. Likewise, he urges CDOs to establish long-term relationships with their customers, emphasizing that they must understand all types of businesses to gain greater knowledge and provide insights.
In conclusion, Chadha shares he is willing to work with other organizations or people who might need a mature data landscape. He is a learner for life, he says.
CDO Magazine appreciates Ravneet Chadha for sharing his insights and data success stories with our global community.
