A Modern Update on Hair Restoration

Across the United States, more than 50 million men and 30 million women experience male or female pattern baldness or thinning hair in a given year. Most patients will be able to complete the entire process over the course of several hours. Individual hair grafts are retrieved in the morning, the patient relaxes over lunch and then has the grafts inserted in the affected areas of the scalp in the afternoon. Patients return for a few visits to sit under a special ultraviolet light that helps support new hair growth. Recipients also apply specially formulated products to aid in scalp recovery after the procedure.
