Rohit Dhawan, AWS APAC Data, Analytics, and AI Strategy Leader, Joins CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board

(Asia) We are pleased to welcome Rohit Dhawan to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Dhawan is Regional Leader (APJ) for Data and Analytics and AI Strategy at Amazon Web Services. He is an esteemed data executive with a wealth of experience in driving transformative initiatives within the APAC region. With a deep understanding of new technologies and their practical application, Dhawan collaborates closely with customer CXOs to create and execute pragmatic transformations.

Prior to joining Amazon Web Services, Dhawan held prominent roles at renowned organizations such as Accenture, Deloitte, and IBM. During his tenure, he led sales and solutions of new service lines, delivering successful digital programs for Fortune 500 companies. His extensive business acumen and expertise have allowed him to conduct business in 12 countries across the region, enabling him to navigate diverse cultural and market landscapes.

As the Head of Data Strategy at Amazon Web Services in the APAC region, Dhawan plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's global data strategy. His contributions include incubating Amazon's data and AI strategy and transformation program specifically designed for the APAC market. Additionally, he played a key role in incubating Accenture's Customer and Marketing Intelligence service line in ASEAN and served as a founding member of Deloitte Insight Solutions, the first dedicated Enterprise AI group.

Dhawan's collaborative approach involves partnering with Chief Data Officers and Chief Technology Officers to guide and implement enterprise data transformation programs. In his role, he oversees multi-organizational cross-functional program teams comprising 50 to 100+ resources, ensuring effective management and seamless execution.

With expertise across the full data and AI lifecycle, Dhawan is well-versed in technical architecture, platforms, data and analytical models, consumption, process integration, and value realization. His focus remains steadfast on delivering customer and business outcomes while scaling people, processes, platforms, and governance capabilities. Moreover, he possesses exceptional skills in advanced analytics and adeptly communicates the "art of the possible" with simplicity and clarity.

Dhawan holds a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Sydney, a testament to his deep understanding of cutting-edge technologies and their real-world applications. His academic background coupled with his extensive industry experience makes him a highly respected authority in the field.
