(EMEA) South African financial institution FirstRand has appointed Nollie Maoto as the new Group Compliance Chief Data and Analytics Officer. Maoto is a proven leader in executing a data analytics strategy and in creating and delivering business intelligence and analytics solutions with over 16 years of experience in the Financial Services and Management Consulting Industries.

Prior to joining FirstRand, Maoto served as Chief Data Analytics Officer - Merchant Services at FNB South Africa. She began her career as a management consultant at Accenture before moving to Momentum Wealth as an e-commerce business analyst. Her first role in data analytics was with Paycorp Holdings (ATM Solutions). She then joined FNB South Africa, where she held several executive head roles in the business intelligence division for ConnectMe, eventually becoming the chief data analytics officer for ConnectMe and later for FNB Merchant Services.

Maoto has made the Global Data Power Women List for three years in a row in 2022, 2023, and 2024. She is celebrated for her leadership and mentorship of women in data and analytics throughout Africa. She also holds a position on the CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board, showcasing her contributions to the field of data.
