(US and Canada) KeyBank has named Ankit Goel as Chief Data and Analytics Officer. In his role, Goel will be managing the new team dedicated to leading the strategic direction and governance of data and analytics capabilities. His team will be focused on enhancing the bank’s Data and Analytics Strategy and Governance to make it easier to find, access, and use data while ensuring a sound approach to managing the complete data lifecycle from production to consumption.
Goel’s role combines strategy with technical implementation, which will enable KeyBank to effectively prioritize across the data portfolio to ensure there is a single point of accountability. “I am so excited for this opportunity to lead the next chapter of our Data and Analytics journey,” says Goel. “I have an excellent team that will be partnering across the bank to enhance our Data and Analytics Strategy and Governance and I’m ready to get started on what lies Ahead.”
Previously, Goel held the role of SVP – Head of Data, Analytics and Modeling at KeyBank where he led the analytical data and tools strategy for the bank, including Commercial, Consumer, and Digital efforts. He was also responsible for setting up the end-to-end data and analytics governance. Prior to joining the organization in 2022, he was the Vice President of Data Transformation and Analytics Solutions for the single-family division at Freddie Mac, where he led the development and implementation of a multi-year cloud transformation for the data ecosystem.
He was also responsible for the single-family division’s transformation to agile. During this time, he also focused on creating and executing strategies supporting business intelligence, artificial intelligence, machine learning, business rules, and business data architecture.
With over 22 years in the finance industry, Goel has led several large, corporate-wide business initiatives. Prior to joining Freddie Mac, he served as a Vice President at Goldman Sachs where he led global technology teams supporting the company’s prime brokerage and repo trading businesses.
Goel received his BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland and his MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
