Michael Grimes, Northwestern Mutual VP of Data Governance, Joins CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board

(US and Canada) We are pleased to welcome Michael Grimes to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Grimes is  VP of Data Governance at Northwestern Mutual. He has been with Northwestern Mutual for over 25 years and is currently accountable for the Data Governance program and operations for the Core Data & Analytics department. During his career, he has worked in many of the organizations involved with delivering Information Technology.

For many years Grimes led the strategy, architecture, and delivery of Enterprise Content Management solutions across the company. More recently, he led teams that were responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of enterprise data platforms that connect data domains from across the company to drive applications, analysis, and decision-making.

In his current role at Northwestern Mutual, Grimes established the enterprise data governance program and oversaw the implementation of the supporting data management technology to enhance the ability to comply with industry regulations and help activate data for use for the company.
