The Niederman family is hosting its 15th annual Christmas walk, featuring a life-size nativity scene, an amazing light display, and live entertainment. The tradition began when the Niederman family had the idea to put on a Christmas display for the local community, and it has yet to disappoint.
The event’s walking path displays the nativity scene, as well as many Biblical scenes portraying the events leading up to the birth of Jesus. Janet Niederman, one of the farm’s co-owners, stated that more than a million lights reveal the story. There are also 50 speakers around the farm playing Christmas music. Following the walk around the lovely display, all are welcome to step into the barn for some hot cocoa and cookies. The barn also houses displays of primitive bedrooms and living rooms, antique farm equipment and a live show at certain times during the event.
The beautiful 11-acre display opened on November 27 and remains open through December 30. Sunday-Thursday 6-9 PM, Friday and Saturday 6-10 PM. As The Christmas Song states, kids from one to ninety-two will enjoy this festive display of lights. That brightness is only trumped by the passion of the Niederman family to provide such a labor of love.
The Niederman Family Farm is a fourth generation working farm. The Niedermans welcome visitors to their farm all year round for tours, hayrides, and to see their livestock. In the spring and summer, bonfires, barbecues, and many other activities are happening at the farm. But tonight it was all about the Christmas Walk.
The event is completely free thanks to the generosity of the Niederman Family.
