Don’t Forget the Groom

Don’t Forget the Groom

During wedding planning, most of the preparation revolves around the bride. From the dress to hair and makeup, to showing off her beauty in the wedding photos, it’s not unusual for the planning to leave the groom in the shadows. But a marriage is about two parties, and how a groom looks and feels is an important detail that shouldn’t be ignored.

Folchi’s Formal Wear makes sure the gentlemen of the wedding party are taken care of as well as the ladies. The family owned and operated establishment has several locations – with a Folchi in each store to ensure quality and excellent service. They have opened a new location in Liberty Township’s new shopping center to provide more access to the selection of suits, tuxedos and other formal wear for men.

The store has many options for men who are looking for anything from a more casual suit to a formal tuxedo for their big day.

“We’re very up to date on what we carry,” says Marisa Folchi Strickland, who heads the Liberty Center location. “We’ve recently seen a shift in how guys prefer to dress for weddings, and we’re working to keep up with this. They used to prefer looser shapes and styles, but now men want a more tailored look, and fit is key to our merchandise. We pride ourselves on our fittings and alterations are done centrally and locally. Your wedding is the biggest day of your life – the last thing you want is a poor fit.”

The Liberty Center location has a completely different atmosphere within the store, ensuring that grooms and their groomsmen will not only get the perfect product and fit, but they’ll feel relaxed and comfortable while they shop. The goals of Folchi’s and the reassurance of having a family member in the store while grooms browse also helps relieve much of the stress, allowing the wedding party to have fun and focus on looking their best.

“We stock all of our tuxes locally, so if there is an issue we can address it quickly,” says Strickland. “You just want to make sure to come in for your final fitting two days before the event so we have time to take care of things. Couples should focus on having fun with their wedding – it’s up to us to make sure everyone looks good and is taken care of. It should be a fun process for them – nothing about what you’re wearing should stress you out.”

Shopping at Folchi’s Formal Wear not only supports a local business, but the entire community. Folchi’s donates tuxedos, suits and alteration services to school districts for organizations like their choirs and orchestras, or providing discounts for local father-daughter dances. Sycamore High School’s Fashion for the Cure fundraiser features donated products provided by Folchi’s on the runway. The store also provides discounted packages for black tie fundraisers, so community members can support local charities in style.

“We’re very locally driven throughout our entire business,” says Strickland. “We have great relationships with local high schools.”
