Exceptional Patient Services Now Under One Roof in Liberty Township

A state-of-the-art birthing center – home to the only cesarean section viewing room in the tri-state region – is but one example of the many outstanding patient experiences and services offered through The Christ Hospital Medical Center-Liberty Township since the health network’s new hub opened in early January. An emergency room, surgical services, comprehensive radiology and imaging, physical therapy, dermatology, endocrinology, podiatry and a host of physician services – including primary care, orthopedics, cardiology and urology – are also part of The Christ Hospital Health Network’s most recent expansion.

"We have a long tradition of operating clinics in that area, and now, with the opening of our Liberty Township location, we house a full complement of exceptional services under one roof," says Vic DiPilla, The Christ Hospital Health Network’s vice president and chief business development officer. "Our newest center is oriented toward providing efficient outpatient services, but with the ability to keep people overnight when necessary. We’re excited to be in Liberty Township and in Butler County. Area officials have been very supportive of our endeavors, and we are very appreciative of their support."

The 120,000-square-foot facility was designed with families’ technological needs in mind, i.e., cell phone charging outlets and WiFi are available in all areas of the center, DiPilla adds. A walking path, an outside physical therapy area sporting a variety of terrains and a lake-facing gazebo are also available to patients and their families, weather permitting. 

"Our new birthing center is very family oriented, which is huge for our moms. It feels like home," says Leanne Olshavsky, M.D., OB/GYN, birthing center medical director and associate medical director of Women’s Health services at The Christ Hospital’s main campus. 

The birthing center includes nine delivery rooms, four private special-care nursery rooms and two dedicated C-section birthing rooms. Large patient rooms feature kitchenettes and couches. For mothers-to-be pursuing natural childbirth, the center offers hydrotherapy and inroom extra-large showers with seats. Patients are welcome to bring a doula – a birth companion or post-birth supporter – and inpatient and outpatient lactation services to assist new mothers with breast-feeding are also available. 

The C-section viewing room, Olshavsky notes, provides a window through which – if mom wishes – her family can view portions of the baby’s delivery. The window is positioned by the mom’s head, so the family can watch as the new baby is dried off and weighed. Mom can choose to close the blinds whenever she desires privacy. "Liberty Center is but an extension of the already great care offered at our main campus and all our centers," she adds. "No matter where we are, we work as one Christ Hospital team."
