Adding a Pool to an Empty Nest

After years of consideration, Beth and Dave Schirmer took the plunge and decided to get an in-ground pool.

"We enjoy being at our home and property and wanted to find a way to enhance it," says Dave. "And the pool has certainly done that. We’ve spent more time in our yard this last summer than we have in the last

15 years."

"We’re empty-nesters and we thought this would be something that our grown children could enjoy and really make a family event," says Beth. "Plus, we’ve found that it’s a grandbaby magnet!"

As a realtor, Dave has seen his fair share of pools and patios of varying quality and wanted to be sure their addition was something they were going to be proud of.

"The Pool and Spa Warehouse was probably the fifth company we called," says Dave. "Unlike some of the other companies, we could tell immediately that they knew what they were talking about.

"The professionalism was unmatched and they didn’t just show us two or three options from a catalog, they wanted to be sure the pool area fit to our property."

The Schirmers found that the team at The Pool and Spa Warehouse were able to help them with more than just building a pool.

"No one else we spoke to even mentioned lighting or landscaping," says Beth. "The Pool and Spa Warehouse brought in a landscaper early in the design process. Our

yard has a slope and needed a retaining wall installed. Instead of creating an eyesore, the lighting they put in around the wall is really dramatic and looks incredible. It really made a huge difference."

"They advised us on landscaping, the concrete patio, the lighting, the deck furniture and helped us pick out a beautiful and very unique pool liner," says Dave. "They also advised us on different pool purification methods and systems.

"This was a crazy summer when it came to weather and The Pool and Spa Warehouse communicated to us about weather delays and kept us informed about the process. We felt very comfortable with what was going on the entire time."

The new pool owners are very pleased with the end result.

"People always say it looks like something they’ve seen at a resort or a spa," smiles Beth. "All of our neighbors can’t believe how well it fits on the property.

We absolutely love it."

The Pool and Spa Warehouse is located at 10731 Reading Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45241. For more information, call 513.554.000 or visit www.thepoolandspawarehouse.com
