Dilly has been a Mariemont neighborhood gem since it opened 34 years ago. Owner Chuck Warinner is excited to reveal the bistro, bar & bottle shop’s recent renovation, Dilly’s first major facelift since 1996. Real, reclaimed wooden barn accents, new flooring and lighting fixtures add charm to customers’ dining experience.
A large, concrete countertop bar is paired with brand new draft beer system and the addition of four "new" wines on tap. The patio, tucked on the backside of the Strand, features brick pavers, abundant greenery and Mariemont’s Tudor architecture.
"In the summer, in the shade and away from traffic, our patio is one of our most lauded and popular attributes," says Warinner. "The live music moves outdoors, weather permitting, and friendly, leashed dogs are always welcomed with fresh water and a treat."
Live music is legendary at Dilly and is presented six nights a week. Folk, jazz, pop and acoustic performers have all graced the Dilly stage. Warinner explains that music has always been an important part of his life and Dilly is a reflection of exactly the sort of place he and his staff would choose as a hangout.
The full-service restaurant boasts a menu of steaks, salmon, pork, pasta, burgers, soups, chili and plenty of vegetarian options as well. Their signature gazpacho is available all summer long. Another Dilly delight is their beer cheese, developed from Warinner’s own recipe.
"My recipe, developed in the ’80s, is based on my memory of the flavor of Allman’s Beer Cheese growing up," he says. "We’ve served enough of it to fill a swimming pool, no doubt."
If you’re not stuffed yet, Chef Trae Allison and his talented crew kick it up a notch and present dazzling special kitchen features every weekend.
"OpenTable consistently ranks Dilly as a top neighborhood gem in the metro area and we look forward to meeting new guests and turning them into Dilly fans as well," says Warinner. "Our loyal customers and dedicated staff make a family culture and that gives me a deep sense of satisfaction."
