Local Collaboration Results in Big Win

Ramada Plaza and its Elements at Ramada event center will play an important role in an exciting event coming to the local region in November – the 2019 Miss Ohio USA and Miss Teen Ohio USA pageants, set to take place November 2-4.

The Sharonville facilities will serve as the host hotel and provide most of the hospitality for pageant guests, support staff and attendees. That hospitality will extend to Ramada’s state-of-the-art water-park, Splash Cincinnati.

Winning the Miss Ohio USA/Miss Teen Ohio USA bid to host the pageants was a major undertaking. Sharonville City Councilman Shayok Dutta joined forces with Ramada’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Jay Bedi, and Vicki Lemasters of Cincinnati USA Convention & Visitors Bureau to pull together a bid that convinced the pageant organization to bring the event to Sharonville. Dutta, Bedi, and Lemasters will serve as host city chairs.

Dutta credits the successful bid with his partnerships with Lemasters and Bedi as well as the community. "We had unprecedented support from the City of Sharonville’s ‘Northern Lights District,’ Princeton City Schools, Sharonville Convention Center, Sharonville Chamber of Commerce and a variety of surrounding hotels and business partners," Dutta says. Dutta says the event could bring a $400,000 economic impact to the region. "I’m looking forward to this event as another great accomplishment in helping Sharonville’s ‘Northern Lights District’ and the hospitality businesses it serves to prosper for years to come," he says.
