Selling The American Dream

A little over a year ago, Holly Maloney’s phone rang. Turns out, she had been nominated to join the cast of The American Dream, a national show about the real estate lifestyle featuring top Realtors from around the country.

The show airs every Sunday on ABC, Roku, Apple TV and Amazon Fire TV. “It’s the cream of the crop in every market,” explains Maloney, who is one of nine agents to represent the Cincinnati market.

Maloney Real Estate Group-Exp Realty is a team that includes Holly and her husband, Tom, two assistants and one additional agent. Last month, Maloney traveled to San Diego for discussions with top power players in the Country.

“Working with the best of the best around the Country is a good thing both for sellers and buyers,” says Maloney, who appreciates being able to expose her clients to everything that’s going on, not only in the Cincinnati market but also in other parts of the Country.

“I do a lot of relocation, so if I have a client who is relocating to, say, Tampa or Seattle, I can match them up with the top agents in that market because of the relationships I’ve built,” she says.

Recently, The American Dream filmed at the AC Hotel in downtown Cincinnati, a Marriott hotel with a rooftop bar that overlooks the city’s dazzling skyline. “They have igloos you can rent out in the wintertime so we featured those to highlight some cool things to do and see in Cincinnati,” says Maloney, who also filmed an episode at Rookwood Pottery where guests can do tours and have tile custom-made for their homes.

Maloney also likes spotlighting local gems that people often don’t even know exist. For instance, she featured a nonprofit furniture bank that picks up and refurbishes furniture for veterans and battered women’s shelters.

Maloney, a top 1 percent agent in the industry, knows that people don’t care if she’s a top realtor or if she’s won a ton of awards.
