Cleaning Up Cincinnati

Cleaning Up Cincinnati
Published on

When the carpets need cleaning, the landscaping needs attention, or the parking lot needs striping, owners of more than 150 local commercial buildings throughout Cincinnati, Dayton and the surrounding communities call on one man to do the job – Brent Degenhardt.

When Brent decided to launch his own business in 2002, he looked for a partner who had the complementary skills he could trust implicitly. His natural instinct? His father, Don Degenhardt.

Prior to signing an agreement to launch their City Wide office in Cincinnati in April 2003, Brent and Don conducted extensive research on building maintenance providers in the market. The duo found there was a lack in suitable companies providing the high-quality services clients desired.

Thus, coming from the manufacturing and construction industry combined with the high demand for building maintenance businesses in the Cincinnati area, City Wide Maintenance was the perfect fit for the Degenhardt duo.

The timing was also ideal, as City Wide Maintenance had just begun franchising in 2001, making City Wide Maintenance of Cincinnati the third franchise location. Within the first month of being in business, the father-son duo started their first accounts – Pepsi Bottling Company and a handful of local daycare centers.

Since its launch, the business has grown rapidly throughout the region and expanded its services into the Dayton market. Having grown the business from the ground up, it has become one of the most sought after commercial building maintenance providers in the region.

Today, Brent has taken on more responsibility as his father progresses towards retirement. The business has built a robust and diverse client base with clients in various sectors ranging from medical and educational to automotive and industrial.

City Wide Maintenance has made a name for itself in the area by streamlining commercial facilities and maintenance management of more than 20 services through a collection of service providers and alliance partners, including janitorial services, floor care, window washing, janitorial supplies, parking lot maintenance, and several others. Taking the onus off building owners and property management companies that typically have to choose separate companies for each task, City Wide eases the selection and management processes for its clients.

Brent’s continued passion for serving the needs of others is fulfilled every day in the work he does with City Wide Maintenance, managing 20+ facility services for more than 150 clients across the Cincinnati and Dayton metro areas.
