Taste of Cincinnati is held every Memorial Day weekend in downtown Cincinnati by The Downtown Council of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber. Started in 1979, it is now the nation's longest running culinary arts festival.

May Festival

Be sure to see James Conlon direct the May Festival for the final time!

Under the direction of James Conlon, the May Festival choruses are joined by renowned guest artists and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra during the two-week festival, which includes concerts in Cincinnati's Music Hall and also Covington, Kentucky's Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption.

After nearly four decades of extraordinary leadership and music-making with America’s premier choral festival, Mr. Conlon will be named May Festival Music Director Laureate and continue to have a presence conducting in Cincinnati both with the May Festival and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

Contemporary Arts Center Exhibitions

Check out the new exhibitions at the Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center: The perfect kiss (QCC)* and The Vesper Project. 

The perfect kiss (QQ)* is a curatorial and creative undertaking for artist and curator Matt Morris, who will develop an arrangement of works by Byars in conjunction with a number of his own interventions. The exhibition’s title references a 1974 artwork by Byars while also seeking to rekindle the unexpected romance and delicacy within Robert Mapplethorpe’s 1990 exhibition The Perfect Moment. 

On view now through Sunday, October 11, 2015.

The Vesper Project is a massive, multi-part installation in which paintings are woven into the walls of a 19th century American house. It is the culmination of a five-year engagement with the lost storylines of the Vespers, a 19th century family who "passed" as a white family in New England even as their mixed heritage made them "Negro" in the eyes of the law.

Up at Bat: Warhol and Baseball

As the city gears up to host the Major League Baseball All-Star game July 14, museum officials decided it was a good time to remind Cincinnatians of Warhol’s "Pete Rose," which turns 30 this year.

The exhibit, "Up at Bat: Warhol and Baseball" (April 11-Aug. 2), also features the only other paintings Warhol did on baseball players: one of Roger Maris and one of Tom Seaver. In fact, Warhol’s Seaver painting shows him in a Reds jersey, which was created in 1977 after he had been traded to Cincinnati from the New York Mets.

The Cincinnati Shakespeare Company presents Henry V, but it'll only be here until May 30!

The prodigal Prince Hal has cast off the unruly ways and unruly companions of his youth, and has ascended to the throne of England. But the civil wars that allowed his father, Henry IV, to ascend to the throne, have taken their toll. The country is bankrupt, and civil unrest bubbles just under the surface, threatening to erupt again. In order to refill the royal coffers and unify the country against a common enemy, the young King Henry sets his sights on the conquest of France. But his fervent army of nobles and commoners soon find themselves in hostile territory, surrounded and woefully outnumbered. At the center of Shakespeare’s history cycle, and featuring some of the most powerful oratory in the canon, Henry V tells the unforgettable tale of those few, those happy few, that band of brothers who stood up against overwhelming odds to fight for God, King and Country. Don’t miss this history cycle favorite, as Shakespeare’s game of thrones continues.

Treasures of Our Military Past

"Treasures of Our Military Past" opens May 15. Each of the ‘Treasures’ exhibits highlights some part of Cincinnati history. The exhibit is designed to celebrate the region’s rich history with artifacts collected from Cincinnatians who participated in the military from as early as the 1780s. More recent conflicts, such as the wars in the Middle East, will also be featured, although there are fewer artifacts available from that time period.

Ultimate Queen City Underground Tour

Reds vs Rockies on Memorial Day!
