A team of recognized AI and data experts, led by Dr. Michael Proksch, just published “The Secrets of AI Value Creation: Practical Guide to Business Value Creation with Artificial Intelligence from Strategy to Execution,” their new book on generating business value with AI.

The authors boast years of combined experience in driving digital and AI adoption. Alongside leader Dr. Michael Proksch, Chief Scientist at AccelerEd serving the University of Maryland Global Campus, is Dr. Wilhelm Bielert, the visionary CIO of PremierTech, and Nisha Paliwal, MVP Data and AI at Capital One.

Drawing from their extensive experience, the authors dive into the world of artificial intelligence from an unique perspective in the book, empowering business, technology, and analytics leaders with the knowledge and approaches needed to conquer obstacles and unlock the true value of AI. They dissect challenges from every angle—business, technology, data, algorithmics, and psychology—providing a comprehensive roadmap for success.

The book also includes personal contributions, such as stories, learnings, and best practices from many more industry experts like Scott Hallworth, Chief Data and Analytics Officer at HP; Radha Subramanyam, Chief Research and Analytics Officer at CBS; Das Dasgupta, Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Starbucks, among others.

The book takes its readers on a four-part journey. In part one — Value Creation Potential, the authors illustrate how AI can be defined and operationalized in order to fully reap the rewards that it has to offer in terms of business value creation.

In the second part of the book, Overcoming Value Challenges, the authors explore the various challenges that organizations new to AI are often unaware of on their journey to create value with AI. Through extensive experience, research, and real-world examples, the authors provide insights and strategies that can help businesses navigate the complex landscape of AI implementation.

Enterprise Integration, which is part three, outlines how to scale AI value creation across an organization, ensure that AI capabilities are fully leveraged and mitigate the risks associated with AI adoption. According to the team of authors, this will ultimately determine the success or failure of an AI initiative.

The fourth and final part of the book, Required Capabilities, focuses on core competencies necessary to scale AI effectively across an organization and how to structure an AI initiative for optimal results. The authors explain that for AI value creation to thrive, organizations must have not only the requisite technology and data management infrastructure, but also the right AI talent in place.

“‘The Secrets of AI Value Creation: Practical Guide to Business Value Creation with Artificial Intelligence from Strategy to Execution’ isn't just a book—it's a roadmap to transforming an organization with AI,” says Proksch.
