New Local Arts Show 'arts Bridge' Premieres

Cincinnati’s rich, vibrant and thriving arts and cultural community will be featured in a new locally-produced CET program, arts Bridge. arts Bridge will air at 6pm on Saturdays on CET and at 8pm Sundays on CET Arts. The premiere airdates are October 4th and 5th.

This new weekly series from CET, takes a look at the arts and the art scene in and around Cincinnati. Evans Mirageas, The Harry T. Wilks Artistic Director of Cincinnati Opera, will host the series. Each week Evans will introduce profiles and features from the worlds of music, theatre, dance and art in Greater Cincinnati along with a variety of national arts and cultural highlights.

arts Bridge is part of a unique public television collaboration. Features about Cincinnati area arts and artists will be paired with national stories from across the country and broadcast as part of CET’s locally-produced arts Bridge. In addition, Cincinnati area segments from arts Bridge will be made available to public television stations across the country extending the reach of greater Cincinnati arts well beyond southwest Ohio.

October 4

-Cincinnati Stone Sculptor Karen Heyl on her art created from stone and clay

-Retired ArtsWave CEO Mary McCullough-Hudson, talks about the beginning of her musical career and how she got to ArtsWave

-The Picking Copper Kettle Company in Bucyrus, which makes handmade kettles for major orchestras

-Dale Chihuly, blown-glass artist whose work is featured at Phoenix’s Desert Botanical Garden

October 11

-Cincinnati’s S.T.A.R.S. Elementz Program, which has a mission to find and develop talented teens seeking careers in the music and recording industry

-Mary McCullough-Hudson, the retired CEO of ArtsWave, who discusses her early career and her time at ArtsWave

-Pamela Santeau of Swanton, Ohio - “The Godmother of American Airbrushing”

-Blacksmith Dave Koenig of Houston is busy keeping the craft of forging alive

October 18

-Cincinnati ceramic artist Terry Kern

-Alecia Kintner, the new president and CEO of ArtsWave, on her start and her impressions of Cincinnati

-Missing Peace Art Space, a gallery in Dayton exploring peace through art

-British artist Bruce Munro, who lights up the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus

-Storyboard artist Mike Simon, who has been creating his art for two decades

October 25

-The 90th anniversary of the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati

-Alecia Kintner, the new president and CEO of ArtsWave, on the future of the organization

-Deane Arnold, graphic designer and illustrator, from Reynoldsburg who started working on a new medium – pumpkins -Guitar maker Denny Kopp, whose work is becoming more and more popular
