Published on

CDO Magazine’s New York Executive Boardroom Dinner brought together data, analytics, and AI executives around the area with a unified goal of advancing the safe and strategic use of data and AI on July 24.

The highlight of the event was the panel discussion on the "Safe Use of Data+AI to Unleash the Power of Enterprise AI." Panelists delved into critical topics including strategies for governing and managing unstructured data, the importance of embedded governance within unstructured data and AI pipelines, the barriers to adopting copilots, best practices for enabling enterprise AI, and how data teams can effectively bridge the gap between technical achievements and executive comprehension.

The panel of experts were:

  • JC Lionti, Mizuho Managing Director and Chief Data Officer

  • Deepak Jose, Mars Wrigley Global Head of One Demand Data and Analytics Solutions

  • Moin Haque, IFF Head, Enterprise Data, Analytics & AI

The discussion was moderated by Rehan Jalil, Securiti President and CEO.

“It was great to learn from the industry leaders on enterprise AI capability scaling and the importance of data quality frameworks to enable this,” says speaker Jose.

Participating in “such an intimate and collaborative setting was a therapeutic and inspiring experience” for speaker Haque.  “I did not feel alone in this journey hearing from peers tackling similar challenges and found valuable insights through this ‘collective intelligence.’”

Speaker Lionti thanks CDO Magazine for bringing “so many leaders” together. "Always great to regroup with the CDO Magazine community. The exchanges are incredible."

Joseph Bonanno, Citi Global Head of Data Analytics & Innovation – Citi Wealth, enjoyed discussing GenAI, data, analytics, and tools and technology with “a cross-functional set of experts shaping the industry.” He says he was “thrilled to have been at the CDO Magazine data leaders event, speaking about building trusted AI with established data leaders along with Securiti.ai.”

For Sujatha Krishnan, LG Electronics USA Senior Director, Head of Analytics & Data Solutions, the discussions on cultural shifts necessary in enterprises “truly reinforced” the confidence that her team and organization are moving in the right direction. She adds, we "had a great conversation with top data leaders at the CDO Magazine Boardroom Dinner, where we delved into the pivotal role of unstructured data in Gen AI, large language models, and the importance of data lineage and literacy."

Sharing his take, Andrew Reiskind, Mastercard Chief Data Officer, says, “At the CDO Magazine dinner, it was once again an enlightening conversation with colleagues about AI and data governance. We discussed managing unstructured data to ensure the responsible use of that data in Gen AI. It’s an important topic for Mastercard and our work in this space.”

Reflecting on the event, Steve Wanamaker, CDO Magazine Founder & Publisher, says, “What an amazing evening with world-class data leaders in New York! So many candid insights were shared, which felt like a family gathering. The collaboration and relationships formed or deepened were evident throughout the evening. This is an extraordinary community.”

“This should be a ‘can’t miss’ gathering for all New York and New Jersey data leaders,” says Franklin Kessler, CDO Magazine SVP, Program Management. “The New York data leaders met for another dinner to collaborate and learn from each other. They are such an incredible group of leaders.”

Securiti’s Jalil reiterates that “enterprise AI is not consumer AI.” He says, “There is huge potential for AI in the enterprise with proprietary unstructured and structured data if its safe use can be automated. CDOs have a huge opportunity to play a pivotal role in unleashing that potential of Safe Enterprise Data+AI.”

Special thanks to Securiti for making the CDO Magazine Executive Boardroom Dinner such a resounding success.
